About the project

The project Ecosolder belongs to the Romania-Republic of Serbia IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, in line with the Council Regulation (EC) No. 1085/2006, establishing an Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA).
This project is a contribution to the strategic goal of the IPA Programme to achieve a more balanced sustainable socio-economic development of the cross- border area, by means of promoting the know-how for an efficient exploitation of certain resources of the region. In a common and modern data base elaborated by the partners, knowledge will be stored regarding mining technologies for the extraction of metals, processes of elaboration of the ecologic filler alloys and technologies for soldering and brazing, as well as results of the tests. Specialists of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and other companies have access to this data base on the project website, in order to develop their own business in this domain.
Dissemination of specific technology solutions for both the production and industrial applications of filler alloys is also done in the conferences and workshops that are scheduled. The most important aspect is related to the occupational health and environment protection, as the new soldering alloys are ecological.
The activities of the project promote directly the research, development and innovation results of the partners, according to the profile of this project.

Over the years, the Institute has gained many references in the field of mining and metallurgy of copper and precious metals over the realized projects in India, Burma, Iran, Sierra Leone, Armenia, Turkey, Zambia, Pakistan and Macedonia.

The laboratories of Institute are accredited by the Accreditation Board of Serbia, according to the Standard JUS ISO/IEC 17025, for chemical testing methods in the field of mining and metallurgy for metals and alloys of copper, gold, silver, palladium and other non-ferrous and precious metals.

The quality management system in the Institute is certified by the International Certificate House Lloyd's RQA and SGS, according to the Standard ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO/IEC 17025.
